Panel formed for UGC, and AICTE to work together on higher education policies. A committee has been formed to draft a plan for the University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) to collaborate as a unified regulatory body, setting the way for the creation of the proposed Higher Education Commission of India (HECI).

The committee, established by UGC chairperson Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, will initially pinpoint areas where the two authorities might collaborate on developing rules and regulations using a uniform methodology.

The change occurs as the administration prepares to introduce the HECI Bill during the winter session of Parliament.

In many ways, the creation of a collaborative working plan serves as a precursor to the proposed Higher Education Commission of India (HECI). Regulations governing higher education, after all, apply to students pursuing both general and technical degrees or courses, according to Prof. Kumar, who spoke to The Indian Express.

The vice chairs of UGC and AICTE, as well as the secretaries of both organizations, are members of the committee.
